Information: From the information contained in the old inventory register, found in the school, the instrument is said to have been added to the inventory with the number 2877 on 26th June 1928 priced at 2,550 liras.

Description: It’s formed by two horizontal parallel rods (60 x 15; depth 10 ), and one of them is graduated; they are fastened with screws to two supports. One of these supports bends upwards and is connected by two screws to other two rods (576 x 15; depth 5) which are kept parallel by two cylinders (l .77; Ø 6 e Ø 2.5), attached to them by some screws. These rods can form a variable angle with the horizontal plane. The wideness of this angle is measured on a graduated arc with a pointer. The graduated arc and the index are attached respectively to one of the rods and to the support. A stirrup (245 ’ 55), free to rotate, is hinged at the free end of these rods and it carries a brass pulley. A graduated bar, about 350 cm high, with the aid of a brass screw can run on one of the rods of the base. The graduated bar has a central groove, inside which a clamping screw runs to fix the position of the upper movable rods. A cart made of brass (length 85; Ø 73) can be connected to the pulley by a string: the cart is made up of two wheels with a concave rotation surface and of a board that has three grooves: one of them is central, where additional weighs can be attached with an iron hook, and two of them are on its sides; they are used to hang the cart from the pulley. The instrument comes with two small weights.

Use: The instrument is used to find out the amount of strength required to balance the weight force to the inclination changes of the plane.
